Dr. Sahai was born and raised in Iowa. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa, in Iowa City, Iowa, and his medical degree from the prestigious University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He completed his general surgery training at the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. During his general surgery training, he chose to specialize in surgical oncology and underwent two further years of training at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, New York.
